The "LIFE" Series:
A Brief Message on 'LIFE' and It's Meaning
I have a question, people. I'd like to know, What is LIFE?
What meaning does the dictionary give?
The Webster’s Dictionary says the meaning of Life is: (3) a living being, esp. a human being; and (11) the existence of the ‘soul’.
What meaning does the Bible give? The Bible has a lot to say: The OT says: “Life is that which is active (Ps. 69:34) in contrast to that which is ‘inert’ hence faith as well as people can be alive or dead (Jas. 2:17). Both the word ‘soul’ and ‘spirit’ can be virtual synonyms for Life; man is a living ‘soul’ or ‘self’ (Gen. 2:7).
The NT says: “Life is seen as something transitory, depending on and at the disposal of The 'Set- Apart' Father Yahawah (Mt. 4:4; 10:2). The moral quality of Life as a relationship to The Father is more sharply focused. A person related to The Father, is ‘alive’, and the person not so related to The Father, is ‘dead’ (Eph. 2:1f).”
NOTE: The word ‘inert’ means: (1) having no power to move, act or resist- (Webster’s Dictionary).
In today’s world, there are so many people, going through so much, it’s unbearable. Living their lives, but have no ‘life’. The Bible says that, “In Him, we live, we move, we have our being….” (Acts 17:28a). That is life, so we have to use it the way The Set-Apart Father, Yahawah, wants us to use it-and not die in vain, amen.
Ok, so what is your definition of 'LIFE'?
